Barcelona Tourist Information

October 25th, 2008 No comments

Barcelona is a wonderful place; there’s so much to do, so much to see and certainly so much to experience. This is why I have come up with a list of what a real tourist should do in Barcelona. This is to guide you to the musts and the main tourist attractions of the city so that you can leave knowing that you’ve seen it all in Barcelona.

1. La Sagrada Familia

Gaud?’s unfinished masterpiece is without a doubt a must see when visiting Barcelona. Construction started in 1882 and was put on hold following the artist’s tragic death, after many years of starting and stopping, the temple is still in construction and has been for over a century. It’s truly breathtaking fa?ade will have you open mouthed for hours and once you get to the top of the turrets, you’ll be amazed by the view of the city.

2. Las Ramblas

A visit to Barcelona wouldn’t be so without a visit to Las Ramblas. If you tell anyone that you’re going the city, they’ll tell you to go here. Although this is the most well known street in the city and is over crowded and well, quite frankly over priced, you really must go. This long road stretches from Plaza Catalu?a to the port and is adorned with flower stalls, animal markets and street performers. Half way down you will find ‘La Boquer?a’ market which is a vibrant and bustling food market, selling traditional Spanish produce.

3. Casa Batll?

And again, another of Gaud?’s unmissable attractions. This house is situated on Passieg de Gr?cia, right in the centre of the city. Both the exterior and interior of this building are spectacular and are no let down to Gaud?’s trade style. For me, the roof top terrace and the outer fa?ade are the most spectacular part of this building. Be sure to go along and see for yourself, even if jut from the outside.

4. The Magic Fountains

The Magic Fountains can be found off Plaza Espa?a, at the bottom of Montj?ic. A beautiful setting of a palace and a walkway down to two towers, the Magic Fountains come to life on the weekend when a spectacular show lights up the sky. On Friday and Saturday nights, the fountains ‘dance’ away to music and light, while the street is filled up with tourists in awe.

5. Parc G?el

Yes, another of Gaud?’s master creations. The park is situated at the very top end of Barcelona and gives a spectacular view of the entire city. Much more than your standard park, Gaud?’s architecture offers a wonderland of buildings, coves and landscapes that could have you occupied for an entire day.

Make sure to book your accommodation (alojamiento en Barcelona) ahead of time as apartments (apartamento Barcelona) and hotels (hotel Barcelona) het booked up quite quickly in the centre.

Get Competent Recommendations About Digestive Problems and Food Combinations

Cure Digestive Problems By Simply Eating Great Food Combinations

So many people are burdened with poor digestive problems. Such afflictions as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Acid-Reflux Disease or GERD, Diverticulosis, Gastritis and Colitis are running rampant all over the world.

The pharmaceutical giants have built entire fortunes on medications that provide relief from these digestive problems. Doctors have received literally billions of dollars, accumulatively, treating these stomach, bowel and digestive problems.

The same old answer is given to anyone who asks why these digestive problems are occurring. That answer is always “acid build-up,” or “neurological ailments.” However, no one seems to ask the cause of the acid buildup or the real reason for the neurological problems themselves. Why?

The reason is simple and straight forward: digestive problems are caused by poor diet. Does this mean that all people who have digestive problems are eating the wrong foods? No, it simply means that all of these folks are eating the wrong “combinations” of foods.

You see certain foods, when mixed together in the stomach, cause the body to release additional amounts of acid. On the contrary, other foods, when eaten together actually cause the opposite, a decrease in the normal amount of stomach acids. People who have major digestive problems are simply eating foods that when mixed together in the stomach, cause excessive stomach and digestive acids to be released into their digestive system, thus, digestive problems of all kinds.

It is a common belief that if one consumes an acidic food, such as an orange, which is high in acid content, the acid from the orange will cause the body to become more acidic in nature. This is not necessarily so. The determining factor will be what other foods or combinations of foods are consumed with that orange.

Some foods, when mixed with others, will actually cause the acid in one food to be neutralized or even reduced to a slight alkaline state, even if the acid is strong, such as in the orange.

Now, a combination of foods such as beef, tomato sauce and cheese can usually cause quite an increase in stomach acid, thus causing night time discomfort. If the consumer drinks an alcoholic beverage such as beer with that meal, the acidic condition is raised even more. However, if an ingredient such as carrots or broccoli are introduced into this meal, the acid is reduced and the effects of acid-reflux are significantly diminished. Wouldn’t it make more sense to eat some carrots than to be forced to take antacids to treat the problem? By the way, antacids, when taken regularly, can do great harm to the digestive system.

There are various combinations of foods, food groups, beverages and spices that can actually make a tremendous difference in the health of the digestive system. The digestive problems that torment many people are the result of improper mixing of different food combinations.

It has been proven that when specific foods are combined with other foods, almost all digestive problems and afflications can be easily controlled. The nice thing about this discovery is that the specific beneficial food combinations are very much unlike a diet. When one learns how to combine certain foods, they can actually eat full meals and still lose weight and not suffer from digestive problems such as colitis, GERD, diarrhea, constipation, etc.

The secret is in learning the food combinations that work well with each other in order to lower the amount of digestive acids and bring the body into more of an alkaline state. This is not difficult.

Results can be achieved almost overnight and any person can begin to sleep better, have more energy, awaken refreshed and still eat almost all the foods they enjoy. The secret to digestive problems being eliminated is simply learning how to prepare and eat foods in the appropriate combinations.

Mix the right foods together and your digestive problems will disappear. End of story.

How To Find Golf Lessons For A Bargain Cost

October 23rd, 2008 No comments

Golf used to be a “gentleman’s game,” basically a game only for those who could afford to buy the right equipment and clothes required of strict club codes. But, as courses open up to the public and the price of equipment becomes attainable, golf is quickly gaining mass appeal.

That said, golf is a game of skill and, unfortunately, the cost of private golf lessons still remains somewhat prohibitively expensive for many new golfers. To learn about some ways to save money on golf lessons as well as get the most for your money before you start, keep reading.

1. Work within Your Budget

Don’t rush into twice-weekly, full-round private lessons. Instead, take a look at your golf budget and see what you can afford.

If you have a low budget, you need not feel any compulsion to make an entire golf vacation out of your pursuit. Rather, perhaps you could get yourself into a group class or share a lesson with a friend. You will not receive one-on-one attention in a group class, but you get the advantage of working with other golfers, hearing their questions and concerns and watching how your coach teaches them.

Another option is to just book one or two private lessons to address any specific questions or problems you think you may have. If you’re comfortable with putting, maybe just book one or two sessions to work on your drives or fairway shots.

2. Try Home Study

If you don’t have the funds for private or group lessons, try learning at home with instructional books, DVD’s, magazines and even online tutorials that can help you with everything from your form during a swing to lining up a great putt.

DVD’s are a great way to watch a pro in action and see the full movement of an almost-perfect swing. You can often borrow these from the library or purchase them at a discount online.

3. Practice

If you decide to commit to an extensive private lesson plan, stick to it and practice outside of your lessons. You’ll not only see improvement faster, but also ingrain the lessons into your memory if you practice your new techniques right away.

4. Get Quotes

Shop around for a good price on golf lessons. Try calling different courses, schools and pros to check rates, and don’t be shy about asking for discounts.

Always ask for first-time customer discounts, pay-in-cash rates or volume rates, where if you buy a certain number of lessons and pre-pay, the price of each individual lesson is discounted.
